Art
At Merrow Federation schools our Art and Design curriculum stimulates creativity and imagination. It not only meets National Curriculum requirements but also provides children with memorable art lessons that will develop their art skills and prepare them for the next stage in their education.
Throughout the Early Years and Key Stage 1, children are taught to use a range of materials creatively to design and make products. From Key Stage 2 the subject is taught weekly, and each child has a sketchbook where they can record their work from initial ideas to finished pieces. All children will have opportunities to use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their
ideas, experiences and imagination.
Our aim is to foster and encourage our children’s natural creativity to allow children to become confident, skillful and enthusiastic artists. Our Art and Design curriculum promotes curiosity and empowers our children to become independent and resilient artists.
